Bar and restaurant operator Concept Entertainment Group plans to open the renovated Grand Central Building on Dec. 28.
The Portland company’s new Grand Central Restaurant and Bowling Lounge will fill half the building located at Southeast Eighth Avenue and Morrison Street. Nine retail tenants will fill the rest of the building, which for many years was home to a bowling alley before undergoing the $11 million redevelopment.
The 22,000-square-foot restaurant and lounge seats 125 people in a main dining room and bar. The bowling lounge features 12 bowling lanes with a touch of luxury — leather couches and coffee tables and food and beverage service.
A mezzanine overlooking the bowling area offers a second bar with lounge seating and four restored Brunswick pool tables.
Concept Entertainment employs more than 350 in the Portland area. Its eight other properties include downtown Portland’s Lotus Card Room & Cafe, Old Town’s Thirsty Lion Pub & Grill and Northwest Portland’s Gypsy Restaurant and Velvet Lounge.
